Today comes with family-festival energy at Camden Yards, a very Baltimore cleanup rally at Middle Branch Park, and one genuinely adorable Aquarium update about rescued sea turtles named after our neighborhoods getting back to the ocean.

Camden Yards is running a deeply wholesome operation this morning

Stroll and Roll is at the Camden Yards Sports Complex today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, with a 5K, a mobility-inclusive family walk, and a Family Festival open from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Moon bounces, giant bubbles, face painting, glitter tattoos, and kids’ books is such an aggressively sweet lineup that it feels like Baltimore looked at a Saturday and decided to be extra nice on purpose.

Middle Branch is getting the good kind of busy with neighbors picking up the waterfront

The Neighborhood Design Center’s Trash Dash is also happening today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Middle Branch Park, where teams clean up along the Patapsco and then get awards at the end. A city event where people show up with gloves, help the harbor look better, and make it a little competitive for fun is extremely Baltimore behavior, and honestly pretty cute.

The Aquarium just sent a whole batch of Baltimore-named turtles back where they belong

The National Aquarium shared on April 29 that 29 rehabilitated cold-stunned sea turtles and one seal were returned to the sea after months of care, including many turtles named after Baltimore neighborhoods by local residents. If you needed a reminder that this town will absolutely root for Canton, Hampden, Patterson Park, and Little Italy even when they have flippers, there you go.
